I'm considering moving accounts because as much as I don't want to have to, it'd be nice to get a fresh start since I've been doing a lot of evolving over the past few years and I've been trying to branch out and be more versatile. Not to mention that deviantART WILL insist on dredging up old works from years and years ago to feature under "More From This Artist" and just... argh! I don't want to delete all my old stuff, there's a lot of history here I'd like to look back on, and as much as I hate to admit it my older work still seems to be a lot more popular, judging by what I tend to get comments and favs on, and if people still enjoy it I don't want to take that away.

Maybe I'll set up somewhere else to post new stuff and leave this open as a museum type thing? I'm not sure. In the meantime, I've been posting stuff on fb under the name fawndog and on tumblr under the name shelzie :)

I understand, I hate the 'more from the artist' thing :/  My old 'art' is terrifying!
I like looking through other peoples old art and seeing how much they've improved, so if you did move accounts you should defiantly keep this as a museum of days gone by.
It's really all up to you though, just remember to link to the new account because it's horrible when artists don't and you have to dig through the internet to find them XP

Hahah I definitely will! And thanks for the input :) I'll definitely leave this gallery open as there are a lot of good memories associated with this account.

Do what you need to do m'dear  I really feel  your pain on the "more from this artist" they even drag stuff out of scraps D: Does make me want to move accounts, it's something I've been thinking about (weirdly) the last couple of weeks. I'm still 'Opal' but I have grown a lot as a person in the last 10 years, so I really understand what you mean. It's like keep this account as the nostalgia account but make a new one for the shiny/new things :)

Wherever you go, I'll be there supporting you

I totalllly understand... having done it recently myself :p I personally am one of those people who wants to put work in the shredder as soon as it's done... I don't reminisce fondly on old art, I really just use it as a learning experience for the next, better thing. But I don't really like to purge it either. It's good sometimes to look back and see what you've improved (and deteriorated) in. "fawndog" is still available if you want a new account (; I'd snag it for yourself even if you don't plan on switching right away. I created "hellobeasty" way before I actually started using it, haha.

Nooooooo. Don't do it. You could loose a lot of people who love your work. I really wanna start over and all but i have people that like my work and even the work i think sucks, they would be very disappointed if i took them down. Please don't do another one. Stick with it.

Thing is, Ti, I feel like I already have lost a lot of people by changing up what I draw and also not posting as often. My older stuff gets a lot more attention than my newer stuff, constantly, and frankly I feel like people don't really give much of a crap about what I make if it's not dog-related. :\ I've stuck with it for a long time, and I'm just feeling my history weighing heavily on me. Like you said I don't want to take the old stuff down, but I don't particularly want it to be among my featured works either, and thanks to the More From This Artist feature I can't really make them go away. I've been on the site for ten years already and... a lot changes in ten years. I don't really want to be known for stuff I did five years ago but that's what's been happening, and it honestly either feels like I should start fresh or just stop posting to dev and concentrate more on my other sites. :\

so post more work!!!! I was so mad. I kept being called the Disney kid in SVA. It pissed me off. I could do more than just that. So i'm doing that. I do fine art, anime, disney type things, and graffiti and hip hop oriented things. No one knows because I never showed them. For all the other people you feel you may of lost. Forget them. For everyone one person you loose you can get 3 or 4 more who like everything you do. I like when an artist's style changes. It shows that they are growing.  Don't worry about it. I'm looking at my old work and I think it sucks. Someone likes it and likes the new work i've done. I'm going to look back on all of the stuff i'm doing know and go " Oh hell nooo!!!! lock that deviation away!!!!WTF was I thinking" but someone loved it. Post more on your other sites but don't forget you still have fans here. we love you and would miss you a lot.

I don't really want to though like I said? If people still enjoy my old stuff I don't want to take it away from them. I just also don't really want it being featured >_> I wish the More From This Artist would just cycle through the Featured gallery.
