So I recently realized that I haven't really completed anything with a full background, at least not for myself, since my senior thesis film Durian Season. >_>;; I am now on a quest to rectify this (and also practice my background/colouring skills)! I'm proud of this one.

If I'd had enough time and motivation, my ending credits were going to look something like this, just postcard-type images of Labu and the monkeys palling around in the jungle. By then I was sick of drawing trees and monkeys, haha. But it was good to revisit these two after all this time! I need to do a good picture with all four of them in it at some point.

I was going to livestream this tonight actually but I got too into it and finished it. T_T; I'm planning another picture already though so maybe I'll do that one instead.

This is really sweet ^^ I like happy drawings C: There are actually not that many around ...
There is a great lighting in this drawing, and I like the background.
I miss a bit more shading of ... I actually don't know what animal it is, but the one who's having the bowl could use a bit more shading on it's scales in the part that's in shadow. It looks flat compared to the part who is lighted up by the sun. Otherwise, a very sweet drawing with good colours, light and background ^^

Thanks so much, I like happy drawings too and I'm glad that there are other people that appreciate that.

That's actually not a bowl, it's a fruit, and the animal is a Pangolin (specifically a Sunda Pangolin) which is one of my favourite animals and native to my region of the world

These two have their own animated short made for them (my senior project) and this was the first time I've drawn them since then. - [link]

This was largely an exercise in lighting and colouring for me since that's not normally something I've practiced much with in the past, so I wasn't paying too much attention to detail, at least not any more than I had to. Thanks for the feedback though, if this were a commission for someone I'd probably have paid more attention (when I work for myself I usually don't like to spend too long on one picture xDD!).

I know that feeling. If it's a present or a contest entry, you usually pays more attention to things like that ^^

Seems most encounters were around Mandai area. Once they found one injured, sent it to SPCA who then called the zoo. xD I think it's doing well now. It was such a cute ball when they put up the photo.

Aww, this is so heartwarming. I think you're the only person who actually draws monkeys I find cute! XD The background looks great - I like the little details like the moss growing on the branch, and the subtle shading on the leaves.

Thanks hun! I actually have really grown to like monkeys since studying them for the film. If you like these, I recommend checking out some of ~complaint-dept's monkey art:
Yay that makes me happy that you commend my background! I really admire your painting skills, and I've been trying to focus on detailing my backgrounds more, so that means a lot to me.
