Description

Whee, art trade with the fabulous ~inu-aku-kitsune, who's as much of a dog freak as I am. Proof positive that snow dogs and desert dogs can get along xD

I was considering what to draw for our trade when she changed her fursona from a green and orange malamute into a green and golden puppy of questionable, almost Heinzish, pedigree (I've counted at least five breeds she's thought to have in her so far xD). She wrote in her new description that the puppy fits her better as she's more playful, while the old malamute, though taking a backseat, is still there to represent her more serious side... and after reading that, this scenario just popped into my head and I loved it so much I had to draw it.

I was going to draw puppy-Aku pulling malamute-Aku's ear or sitting on her head, but I think those have been overdone and I might get some idiot pointing the almighty finger of pose-plagiarism accusation at me. I've heard way too many horror stories. So.. tail it is xD Also, used dog book for malamute-Aku's pose again, though the pose was reffed from a Sibe husky.. I just made her a bit bulkier so she'd look more malamutish. I used original, cleaned-up pencil outlines (because so many people have been doing that, and golly gee, it worked!) and spent more time on the colouring because I think I've been slacking off too much with regards to that on my trades -_-;

Okay I shall shut up now. Hope you like this, Aku! :glomp:

Oh Swift you've outdone yourself yet again. I love the amount of detail on this, and by far my fav part of this is the way you've rendered the fur!So textured with beautiful shading - with the lovely touch of cross-hatching here and there - you can tell the amount of work you put into this. I want to reach out and touch the screeeeeeeen. Oh such GORGEOUS COLOURING. Even on the teeny puppy you can see so much detail!
Great expressions, you've talked about how the malamute was the more serious side, and the little pup a playful persona and you've portrayed this so well in their poses and facial expressions. I love the malamute's face -- looks like shes just barely tolerating the pesky annoyance!!!!Love it. :heart:
